NSUK

When NorthStarUK was established in 1999, it was the first fully online secondary ‘school’ in the UK. We provide curriculum and tutorial support for families and small schools based upon a British curriculum model. We follow a conventional academic year although we are able to tailor this for families and schools who require a southern hemisphere format.

NSUK makes use of what is called an asynchronous learning model – put simply, this means that our activities do not take place in ‘real time’. Using Moodle, an online learning environment, our tutors upload lesson material which is available to our students anytime they require it. Students work with NorthStarUK at times to suit themselves. There are no time zone issues or timetable classes with NSUK!

All of our work is underpinned by a Christian understanding of created reality, although we accept children from any faith perspective.
