Operating System requirements
Since Moodle is web-based, it is operating system independent.  You can therefore use Linux, MacOS (10.x) or Windows to work with us. There is no need to install any special software in order to access the NSUK online learning environment.

Each family needs to provide the following:

COMPUTER HARDWARE

• A computer running Linux, Mac OSX, or MS Windows,
• A minimum screen resolution of 800 x 600,
• Internet connectivity,
• A soundcard and speakers,
• A printer,
• A scanner may be useful but is not essential.

COMPUTER SOFTWARE

• A word processor capable of saving files in .doc format, (eg MSWord, OpenOffice, Pages),
  
• A modern web browser,(NSUK strongly recommends Firefox)
• Information and Communication Technology students will need to have MS Office 97 (or above) or OpenOffice, depending upon which year they are studying in (please email us for further details),
• An email client such as Thunderbird or Outlook Express,
• Up-to-date anti-virus software (we recomment that your anti-virus software is set to up-date automatically),
• We recommend the use of a firewall.

You MUST have a working knowledge of your computer's operating system and be able to use the Internet.
